My Mobile Battery is always a problem. I always have wondered if I can do some magic and retain my charge. I even installed Battery saver apps to save my battery. But they consumed more power. I googled and was shocked to see all mobiles specifications proudly displaying the Battery capacity. What is this? I wondered. I was curious.
The battery capacity is measured in mAh. This is micro Ampere per Hour. This is one thousandth of an Ah(Ampere per hour). If my battery has 2000 mAh capacity, Then why is it always down. After lots of googling, I then understood the science and marketing behind it. The battery capacity mentioned is the amount of charge the battery can hold. The fact no one speaks is the amount of charge required for the phone to perform. Example
Charge required by a phone to perform - 200mAh
Battery Capacity - 2000 mAh
The average Battery life of the phone is 10 hours
However this is depends on a number of factor like number of apps we use, phone brightness, etc. Next time, I walk into a shop to buy a phone , the question i would ask is How much charge would be required for the phone to perform? I am pretty sure, I would not get an answer . Still the confused look on the vendor's face would be worth the stare.
